Marker Wash (Depth)

After adding a base layer of marker pen if you add another ‘layer’ of pen around the outer edge of the sketch, as well as around any lines inside the sketch, then that will start to add greater depth to the sketch. Following that add soft black pencil to areas that would naturally be darker as well as white chinagraph pencil to areas that would have highlights. This will give the sketch greater depth and is a fairly basic way of quickly communicating design ideas.
